Happy Monday. Er, Tuesday. Which Effing Day is it Anyways?

Now that Memorial Day has passed, the fireworks and parades are over and the acrid smell of burnt meat offerings have wafted off to New Jersey (thank you, jet stream)I can finally confess a little somethin’ somethin’.

I wore white before Memorial Day.

I KNOW, RIGHT? Last week, even!  And!  IT WAS LINEN. Which is never okay!  Ask Martha! Ask Paltrow!  I’m doomed, I tells ya!

I sat down at the computer after four days of chasing Bugaboo all over the tri state area enjoying this relaxing holiday weekend with Bugaboo and realized I haven’t written a lick of blawg in a whole daggone week. And here’s why:

Need I go on?

Last week was hella busy. Not a good excuse but every time I sat down I had to get back up again. The good news? I kept up with the laundry and my kids had clean clothes to wear. And I bathed them a few times and fed them. Which is awesome, because they might smell and stuff. And no one needs a visit from CYS, now do they?

But no hectic weekend could be complete without a fourth grader who learned the fine art of procrastination from his mother. In fact, I know I’m going to take heat for saying it, but he’s almost better at it than I am. He doesn’t just wait until the night before a month-long project is due to start a project. He does it on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND. And then the end result is better than anything I coulda turned out. Sniff, sniff. I’m so proud!  Looky:

I'm wondering when they will come out with "the Lego Titanic" video game.

And that’s not all. This project? Historical Fiction Diorama.  And he read a book about the Titanic.  And now you’re all saying, “OH!  That’s what it is!”  And the rest of you are saying, “Wait. Didn’t he do something about the Titanic before?” Yes. Yes he did. Four years in a row now.  Let’s just say my boy has a thing for catastrophes and disasters. But it’s a healthy obsession. Uh huh. That’s what it is.

And Bugaboo’s obsession?  IT OPENED THIS WEEKEND! YEAH!

Mommy is doing the Happy Dance because it means a happier Bugaboo.

Can I get an AMEN?

Just wait until Bug Boy gets older and takes those pieces to school only to be assembled in homeroom before a 1st period presentation. Not that I’d know anything about doing something like that *ahem*.

We have to work on a school project due next week too. I’m sure my daughter would procrastinate until the last minute, but thankfully, we know when it’s due, so we’re going to make her start it sooner than she would want to. I was all confused on what day of the week yesterday was too!
