Holiday Hangover Haiku

November 29, 2010 by Marj Hatzell

The exhaustion, it persists. Bugaboo has been up every single night for over a week now. Since I can hardly string a coherent group of words together, I figured writing in seven words at a time might help. You’re welcome.

pepper, baking soda

KY jelly, chocolate

On the carpet now

Border collies play

soccer balls have no chance here

deflated four now

Caught up on laundry

Bugaboo woke up today

Now I have five loads

dirt, dog hair, and fluff

piled in every part

of my filthy house

husband gone for days

but does this mean no cooking?

Drat, forgot the kids

new neighbors are fast

Christmas decorations up

mine are still turkeys

mondays are fridays

at least for me, I get peace

naptime is golden

tea, glorious tea

keeps me sane and wide awake

elixir of life

  1. Loukia says:

Wonder what it says about me, that I totally understood this post? Oh yes. That I too am very sleep-deprived.

  2. What a gift, to turn so few words into an evocative post. Good luck.

  3. I just wanted to stop by and say hello from “5 minutes”….would love to talk sometime! Take care.
