Ignorance [Ig ner uhns} -noun. the state in which one lacks knowledge, is unaware of something or chooses to subjectively ignore information. This should not be confused with being unintelligent, as one’s level of intelligence and level of education or general awareness are not the same.
Ignorance is bliss.
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.
The greatest ignorance is to reject something you know nothing about.
Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.
The recipe for eternal ignorance is be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge.
Fear always springs from ignorance.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
The doorstep to the temple of wisdom is a knowledge of our own ignorance.
Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.
Let me tell you something. Read the above quotes. Think of the current state of affairs in this country. Think about all of the squabbling going on about health care. Race issues. Prop 8. Disabilities. Politics. He said, she said. Religion. Morality. And so on and so forth and infinity plus one.
See a pattern folks? Ignorance. Fear. Peace. Expensive. Education. Learning. Opinions. Knowledge.
Learn about each other. Respect one another. Do not fear. Do not hate. Do not pass judgement. Do not be afraid. This life is much too short to worry about what everyone else on the freaking planet is doing and trying to control it. Know what you should be worried about? You. You should be worried about YOUR misdoings. YOUR ignorance. YOUR point-of-view. YOUR finger-pointing. YOUR salvation. YOUR criticism. YOUR hypocrisy.
Stop trying to control it all. Stop telling everyone else what to do. Stop passing around rumors, jumping all over incomplete (and inaccurate) news reports. Stop sending e-mail after e-mail. Stop confusing morality with politics. Stop watching news channels. Stop feeling threatened. Stop being afraid.
Start looking at yourself.
I’ve got a deal for you. The first one of you who does not sin can cast the first stone. The first one of you that is perfect can judge the other person. You can criticize and hate and despise as soon as you turn the other cheek. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Yeah. That’s what I thought.
