Spring Break 2009 is over for Bug Boy and half-way through for Bugaboo. By this time next Monday I’ll be skipping down the street, popping open the champagne and throwing a party. Or not. By this time next week I’ll be crawling back into bed, taking the phone off the hook and sleeping the day away.
Now THAT’S a party!
I haven’t done a terrible job keeping things up around here. The dishes and clothes are done daily, I manage to tidy up each room, I’ve organized a few drawers and closets, manage to get the shopping done and even mopped the kitchen floor. Once. I even hosted my family for brunch and my mother-in-law for dinner and survived Easter with nary a hang-over or sugar high. Not too shabby, considering my house usually looks like it was ransacked (it usually is ransacked. By Bugaboo) by the time he goes back to school after break. Except for the fact that he’s taken a break from potty training, it really hasn’t been too bad for him. He’s been somewhat cooperative, happy and playful. He didn’t sleep for two nights but then went back to sleeping. He had some tummy issues for a few days (eating strike) but seems to be back to normal.
At least the weather will cooperate this week. For the most part. Last week it poured for days and we were mostly stuck inside. That sucked big time. This week I’m putting his rain boots on and shoving him outside regardless. I’m a great mom like that. And I plan on getting some weeding a yard maintenance done while I’m out there keeping Bugaboo from doing somersaults off of the wood pile or climbing the fence. Should be fun.
And now? Your moment of Easter Zen:
Yes, those are Star Wars Eggs.
I’m such a nice mom making my kids wear bunny ears.
Yes, I make my dog wear them, too. It ain’t free to live here, ya know. She’s gotta earn her keep somehow.
For those of you with children returning to school after break, congratulations. For those of you who still have to stick it our a few more days, I’m so sorry. I feel your pain.
Have a day.
