True to form, a teensy bit of a disruption in Bugaboo’s world and he stopped sleeping well this week. Since Daddy was away, NEITHER one of them slept well. And Bugaboo decided he’d get up in the middle of the night and ask for a drink and Thomas (thrilled.). Except when I put it on, five minutes later the cable went out and reset itself. I supposed the cable company figures no one is watching at 3am. WRONG. Never underestimate the power of Bugaboo.
It has been a hectic week and will be a hectic weekend. We’ve got soccer (IN 40 DEGREE WEATHER) and cub scouts and CCD. I have a birthday party, the husband will need to spend quality time with his lawn and the boys will need to drive me absolutely batshiat crazy. Welcome to my typical weekend. Except this weekend we have no extra help.
The real fun this week was the cub scout campfire. The pack decided to have a spooky story time by the campfire, complete with s’mores. We had to hike for five minutes from the car to the campfire. Through the woods. In the rain. In the dark. With only a flashlight. Did I mention that DH was away so I had to push Bugaboo in the stroller? In the dark, in the woods? Over tree roots, up steps and sliding down muddy hills? And then I nearly had a heart attack because I was afraid he’d run off into the woods in the dark? Yeah. Good times. But Bug Boy had a great time, which is all that really matters. My sneakers can be washed. So can my pants. And hopefully, someday, someone will find Bugaboo’s shoe in the forest and make good use of it. You know, a chipmunk could make a cozy little house or something. Or maybe a one-legged animal needs it for the winter to protect its paw. You never know. IT COULD HAPPEN.
As for the princess picture, no, IT’S NOT HER. I picked that because she has a crown on and I thought it was funny, ’cause she’s all smiling because she’s the POULTRY PRINCESS, after all. Apparently, my wretched sense of humor does not translate well. I should stick to my little stick-figure drawings.
Now I have a choice to make. I can go to sleep for an hour OR I could spend that hour catching up on housework. Hmmmm…what should I do? Tough decision.
