Last night we went here for the first time (thanks to the fact that The Best Babysitter in the Whole Wide World was with the boys). I’m glad we did. And? I bought some jewelry that was cheaper or the same amount as Tarzhay stuff that I’ve drooled over recently and it’s a fair-trade organization, which means people were PAID to make this stuff.
I was surprised to see how reasonable to prices were and how nice the items were. I will defintely go back there. If you have one of those near you, please be sure to check it out. I think you will be glad you did.
I think one of the neatest things we saw last night is how resourceful the people from the countries who make this stuff are. I saw bowls and jewelry and bags and scarves…made out of things like newspaper, magazines, soda cans, granola bar wrappers, plastic straps and the list goes on. NEAT stuff. Like, I’M COOLER THAN YOU ARE BECAUSE I’M WEARING RECYCLED MATERIALS KEPT OUT OF LANDFILLS stuff. Gorgeous, fabulous stuff.
Seriously? Go there and check it out. It’s a great concept and a great charity. And they didn’t even pay me to say it.
