Honestly, I should have written this post a long time ago, but someone beat me to it (and did it better, no doubt!). Angela, from Memoirs of a Chaotic Mommy, says what I have been trying to say for a few years now. Go check it out.
In a nutshell, we don’t need pity, we need prayers. We don’t need stern looks, we need smiles. We don’t need to hear, “I don’t know HOW you do that!” because we HAVE to. People sometimes mean well, but…well, it just comes out kinda wrong.
Maddy from Whitterer on Autism had a post on her blog the other day that made me think. This is what prompted Angela’s post. These are both good reads…
