Gag Me With a Spoon

1

November 28, 2007 by Marj Hatzell

I currently have this wicked gag reflex. Ever since I had the flu two weeks ago, I am finding it difficult to eat.  I mean, my throat doesn’t hurt. My stomach doesn’t hurt.  The food smells good and I want to eat it. I just eat a few bites and I feel full. It could be the fact that I am up often at night coughing or blowing my nose.  It could be that all I want to do is sleep. Or it could be that from four days of the flu I dropped thirteen pounds, seven of which I still need to gain back.  Or maybe it was the meds they (docs) put me on. Who knows.

All I know is I LOVE FOOD AND I CAN BARELY EAT IT RIGHT NOW. For someone who is a food addict (me), this is sheer torture.  Totally. Like, to the max.

Could it be post nasal drip? No matter what the cause, you have my sympathy. When I was pregnant with the girls I was sick all of the time AND hungry all of the time. Torture is right!
