Do it! Go for the colour while he’s out. I painted the living room a sage green a few years ago. The colour still scares me but I love it. And the husband came around eventually. Lol
I have been asked not to paint while he’s away.
OMG Marj, go with the Russian Blue and Athenian Green and Pumpkin Spice. My ex-husband was also “a white guy” as yours is and I lived for years having to suffer between “China White” and “White Dove” and “Snow White” and “Fing Tired of WHITE!” My almost husband a few years ago painted things very dark manly colors, especially the bathroom a cranberry blood red that took about 5 coats and always gave me the heebie jeebies to go in there. Dark Scary Forest Green. Etc. Now that it’s just me and Mini-Me, we have the kitchen painted seriously Highligher Yellow and the dining room Caribbean Coral and the bathroom “Jamaican Aqua.” It makes me feel incredibly fing HAPPY to live in these rooms. Once all your pictures and furniture and everything goes back in, it’s not nearly as stark as it seems with just the tools and the ladder in there. And if the only happy I get in a day is my Jamaican Aqua bathroom with the permanent ornaments of a flamingo playing guitar and a flamingo with flip flops and a beach hat and the flamingo with the orange tutu………then I get that much happiness at least! I’ll send you pics if you want…..tell Mr. that you HAVE to go HAPPY!!!!!!
